Spring 2026 Editor’s Note

This spring, our invitation is to lean in and fully commit

White paper with text "Decide and commit fully" on a desk with a pen, coffee cup, plant, and notebook. Lean In Spring 2026 in green text.

Ever been so totally captivated by a conversation that you find yourself leaning in, hanging on every word?

Been so captivated by the work of a ministry or nonprofit that you carved time out of your busy life to volunteer, give or help find a solution?

Been so invested in a project that you couldn’t stop until it was finished, so you lean in, focused and poured every part of yourself into the work?

To lean in is to focus, to fully commit and invest. You lean in when you’re invested in the story someone is sharing. You lean in when you want to be a part of the solution. You lean in when you give every part of yourself — your creativity, your imagination, your intellect, skills and talents — to a task, calling or project.

This spring at The Bookery, we’re inviting you all to lean in to your relationship with Christ. This theme is a call to stop wandering aimlessly through our spiritual lives, thinking we’re going to grow as believers without investing and seeking the Lord. Rather than going through the motions of faith, we want to pay attention, to focus on what’s important and seek to trust and obey.

Over the course of the next few months, we’ll be examining that theme from a number of different angles. We’ll examine what it looks like to slow down and hang on every word of Scripture and share tools that help us do that. You can articles on captivating books, thoughts on hospitality and welcoming community around your table and, of course, recipes, book reviews and familiar favorites like “Behind the Story” and “Cookbook Chronicles.”

Plus, season 2 of The Bookery Podcast launches on March 5, with plenty four episodes each month focused of the Bible, books and baking.

My prayer in this season is that we will all lean in and pay attention to our relationship with Jesus, listening and expecting the Spirit to lead us rather than sleepwalking through our lives. This spring, let’s reorient our lives — and our hearts — around what’s most important: Jesus.
