You need to take a coat.

Tomorrow, Mindy and I will board a plane headed for Providence, RI, by way of Chicago (a stop during which we won’t get off the plane. Last week, I was discussing stuff about the trip with my mom, who gave me this sage piece of advice: you better take a coat.
Let that sink in.
You better take a coat.
I assured her I would, then thought a little over that statement. Take a coat. I’m going to New England. In October. Where it’s been snowing. Of course I’ll bring a coat.
But it’s not just my mom who has offered that advice. I’ve gotten it from motherly types at church. From people at work. This afternoon, I got several text messages from people instructing me to stay warm in New England.
So, guys, don’t worry. I’ll take a coat. And gloves. And a hat or two. And I’ll go wild and crazy and actually wear them.
And the next time you read a post on here, I’ll be at an inn in New Hampshire, hopefully curled up somewhere near a fireplace.
