When a week lasts a year

This week has been a little weird for me. I was traveling all day Monday and Thursday and on a relaxed camp schedule in beautiful New Mexico on Tuesday and Wednesday. Coming to work today. . . not high on my list.

Even lower was finding something deemed acceptable as “business casual” to wear. Hence this ensemble (that you can’t see, but I’m not sure that I match all that well.)

All that said, here’s some Friday dispatches to brighten your day. Or at least make mine brighter because I think you’re reading them. 🙂

• I got to spin the wheel o’ prizes at the Y again. And I got 10 points. I’m not sure, but the infernal “Try Again” may have been removed from the wheel. (And, no, I can’t get anything with 10 measly points. I now have something like 2,045 points and still need over 1000 more to get anything I’d want. If you’d like to read more on my history with the wheel o’ prizes, click the link above and then here.)

• I still haven’t picked up my suitcase from the floor. I did manage to get the dirty clothes out, though. That was an accomplishment.

• I feel guilty for enjoying the freedom from responsibility I have since Muffin is staying with my parents for a few more days. I love her, but it’s nice not to have to get up immediately when the alarm goes off for a walk or having to deal with the barking. But I’ll be glad to see her when she comes home! (’cause the house is also too quiet).

• I’ve learned something about running at an altitude: it hurts. Everything they say is true. Your lungs BURN. You will be forced to walk. Your lungs will not forgive you for hours.

• You’d expect something called “taco satanicos” in New Mexico to be spicy and tasty. Not so.

• I’m actually counting the minutes until I can listen to some English lady read Persuasion on Sonic Theater on XM radio. I am that pathetic!

Have a good weekend, all!
