Your Light has come

Spanish speakers use an interesting euphemism to say a woman has given birth to a child: dar un luz. Loosely translated, it means “to give a light.” I’ve always liked that phrase, but it’s come to mean so much to me this Christmas. Christ was born in Bethlehem all those years ago and the Light of the world walked among men. It’s a miracle, indeed. So celebrate today. Arise, shine, your Light has come.
Today your Savior was born in the town of David. He is Christ, the Lord. –Luke 2:11
