Your call is important to us.

Um, no, apparently it isn’t. Because if my call was considered so important, you wouldn’t have kept me on hold for 45 minutes and you surely wouldn’t have played that swill you called music.
Deep breath.
This morning, in the middle of watching the local news, which I do every morning, it suddenly stopped broadcasting. The screen went black. At first, I thought it was a problem with Channel 5, which happens periodically. Then I started scanning through the channels only to find that while I had all my cable channels, I did not have any local channels.
Hmm, I thought. I’ll just call and ask what’s going on. I have a feeling it’s DTV related, but I don’t know. And if I have to get a new TV, I will cry. CRY. Because I am cheap and don’t think there’s anything wrong with my TVs. Anyway, I decided to call and just talk to someone about it. No use worrying about having to buy a new TV until you know if that’s really the solution.
So while I was getting ready, I dialed the number on my bill for the satellite TV I get through my phone company. Thus began the longest wait of my life. (OK, so that’s exaggeration.) I was told that my call was important. That a customer service rep would be with me shortly. That response time was less than a minute. About 3 minutes in, I looked at the clock.
I got ready. I put on makeup, fixed my hair, put on my clothes, made my lunch, fed the dog, turned down the heat, shrugged into my coat, located my purse, turned off the TV, grabbed my keys, started the car, drove to work, and parked my car. Still. no. customer. service. rep. It has now been at least 45 minutes on hold.
OK, I admit I called very early in the morning. But it appears that the line was open as I can’t find a listing of hours ANYWHERE and usually, if you call after/before hours, there’s something that tells you. I tried to find a way to submit my question online, but AT&T seems a bit hard to figure out and no such method of communication seemed available.
So I guess I’m stuck with calling them. Again. And hold. Again.
But I need an answer. LOST comes on tonight and if I miss it, I will be ANGRY. (OK, I’ll watch it online later, but I definitely won’t be HAPPY about it!)
