Wedding Week: Day 3

T minus three and counting! Three days until the nuptials. Three days until I have a sister-in-law. Until my brother is married!
It’s funny, actually. Growing up I never thought about which of us would get married first. I probably assumed it would be me. Since I don’t foresee me getting hitched in the next two days, that assumption’s pretty much out the window. Jason gets married on Saturday. Married. And I won’t be the only person who recognizes how infuriatingly special, talented, lazy, hilarious, loyal, loveable, perfect, and flawed he is anymore. We’re 28. Why do I feel like we’re just now becoming adults?
My bags are packed. I’ve got a 4-hour or so drive ahead of me. I’ve got a stressed out Mom to calm down and try to help. I’ve got two songs to practice all the way to Bernie, Mo. I’ve got to figure out how to take the announcement that my brother and Amber are serving nachos at their reception with a straight face. Nachos! It’s so low class, so silly, yet so perfect. It couldn’t be Jason’s wedding without his own “special” touch. Even if it is nachos, and I’m a little embarrassed by it. But then I’ve spent our entire lives together being embarrassed for him. So it’s kind of the perfect capper.
The chaos starts around 6 p.m. when I pull into my parents driveway. It’s going to be an interesting experience. My favorite person in the whole world is getting married!
