Two days until the wedding. Here’s a closer look at my day.
6 a.m.: Wake up because it sounds like my dad is getting ready for work. Am definitely awake when Sophie, my mom and dad’s dog, barges into my room, hops into bed with me, narrowly missing my head, and gives me a sloppy kiss. I laugh, let mom take the dogs away, and go back to sleep.
6:45 a.m.: I get up. Jason’s here. I eat breakfast with him and help him start to hook up Mom’s new printer/copier/scanner. She got if for her birthday. . . in FEBRUARY!
7:30ish: Jason discovers he doesn’t have a USB cord and leaves. I do my Beth Moore Bible study. I’m DAYS behind.
8-ish: Mom comes home from walking in the park with Barb. We talk while she eats oatmeal. She gets ready to go to Curves and pick up food to deliver for Meals on Wheels.
9 a.m.: I take a shower. I get out, start drying my hair, and wave to Mom when she leaves with Barb. I finish getting ready.
9:45 a.m.: I’m ready for the day. Jason and Amber arrive with a USB cord. I spend about an hour helping Jason hook up the new printer.
10:45 a.m.: Dad arrives. Needs help setting up a canopy at the reception hall. Conscripts Jason and Amber. Mom calls and tells me to meet her and Barb at Barb’s house. I drive the tracker since Jason’s parked me in.
11 a.m: I am officially doing my first Meals on Wheels route. I’m thrilled.

11:30 a.m.: Done with Meals. Mom and I head home, meet Dad, drive to Sikeston for lunch.
1:30 p.m: Dad gets haircut.
2 p.m.: Drop Mom off at Wal-Mart. Dad and I head to pick up reception decorations. It’s not fun.

3:30 p.m. It’s hot! And we’re loading rehearsal decorations and tablecloths in and out of the truck! And now, with all the decorations, Mom, Dad, and me are all sitting in the front seat of the truck. This is not how I imagined this day.

4 p.m.: Drop off rehearsal decorations and see what’s happening at the Community Center. Believe it or not, this may actually look nice!

5 p.m.: All hell breaks lose. It starts to rain. We start dragging rehearsal dinner decorations to the car. I leave the door open to the car and completely forget about it when I hear a crash from inside the house. Mom dropped my glass bowl onto the floor. Glass is everywhere. Dogs are barking incessantly. The kitchen light is stupid and won’t turn on. SOMEONE RINGS THE DOORBELL!!!!!! Finally, we get the glass cleaned up, the dogs shut up, and the door answered. We all grab our stuff and head to the car. (Dad goes to mow the yard, since it’s no longer raining.) Bernie, the mange-ridden dog is sitting in the backseat of the car and will not get out. I have to TOUCH him. This is not my favorite moment of the day.
5:30-8 p.m.: Set up for rehearsal dinner and clean up sanctuary of church.

8:30: Go home, eat supper, celebrate Rick Ankiel being back in the Majors AND hitting a home run! I love you, Rick. . . .if I just wasn’t so tired!
