Wait a minute! What just happened?

I really, really like blogging.
A lot.
I mean, come on. I do it almost every day!
But I’d long since come to realize that my blog was basically just for me. My closest circle of friends read it, a few acquaintances and random readers I’ve picked up along the way, but my blog isn’t the blog everyone in the nation reads at some point. The Pioneer Woman I am not. And really, I’ve been trying to overcome that prideful desire within me to be known or have some notoriety because of my blog.
Then, yesterday happened.
My post about a frittata I had made, a regular Tuesday food post, got picked up and put on the front page at WordPress. As a result, more than 1,400 people visited my blog yesterday. Just check out the stats:

Um, yeah. It’s been a bit of a wild ride, especially since I was fairly happy with 50 hits or less a day.
The funny part of all this is that yesterday—after the initial rush of “Oh my gosh! People all over the WORLD are reading what I wrote! I’m AWESOME!”—that desire for notoriety kind of faded to the background. Instead, I hoped that someone, somewhere would read some more posts on my blog and see that I loved Jesus, and maybe, just maybe it would plant a seed of faith in their lives.
So maybe yesterday was a good thing. 🙂
