The Day the Lights Went out in Sochi

I just read an article that more than 400,000 people in and around the Russian city of Sochi (where I visited this summer) are without power. Now I find that utterly believable, since several days while we were there, the city decided to turn off the hot water to do some sort of repair (Don’t ask, apparently the city controls the hot water. . .not like here.) Anyway, they turned off the water and I endured the absolute coldest shower of my life. I really think I froze my scalp!
But my prayers go out to these people today. The weather is apparently terrible and I can’t imagine being without power or access to supplies for that amount of time!
