Technology hates me

First, my laptop decided that its long, slow, painful march toward death had come to an end. (Actually, I think if I’d buy a battery, I might be able to resuscitate Compy long enough to get my iTunes library and a few pics off the hard drive, maybe.) But for all intents and purposes, my laptop won’t turn on. And I’m saving for a new computer, but probably won’t be making that purchase until January when I get my incentive bonus from work. . . if we get one.
Then my iPod started acting weird. And on Saturday, I noticed the screen looked strange. That’s because it no longer works. All I can get are some fuzzy lines all over the screen, then a bright, white light. No little apple. No menu listing. No way to see what song I’m listening to or choose a particular artist. Absolutely no way to watch my favorite episodes of “The Office.” And this happens as I’m getting ready for a 4 hour plane trip to California. I really think technology is plotting against me.
I’m choosing not to dwell on the fact that I probably just lost my entire iTunes library, some things I’d written that were saved on the hard drive of my computer, and numerous pictures. We’re not going to discuss that.
Meanwhile, I’m hoping my TV, alarm clock, and other “techy” stuff in my house don’t plot to murder me while I sleep.
