Stay (I missed you)

So, dear readers, I’m back!
Life as we know it (i.e. Nashvegas, work, cooking, random TV show watching, Muffin the Wonder Poodle) is back to normal. The time in Missouri was wonderful, but I was also ready to come back to my own house.
Not that that actually happened last night. I left Big MO around 2 p.m., tuning in to the Big 12 radio station on XM with the hope—the HOPE—that they would cover the Mizzou basketball game. This turned out to be only a hope, since to XM-Sirius the Big 12 seems to mean Texas. But I listed to the Texas-Rice basketball game anyway, because I’m weird like that.
I pulled up to my house pretty much straight up around 6 p.m. Mindy was there a bit after to pick me up to drive to Carthage to celebrate our friend Janice’s birthday with her at her own house. Love you, Janice, but your house is—to use my country slang—a fer piece from Nashville. It was nearing 10:30 p.m. when I got home, and sleep. . . well sleep was slow in coming. It didn’t help that my house was like ice. I mean, even Muffin was shivering. It suffices to say that it’s much warmer now.
The good news is that I’m here up until Christmas! Yay! You should all be very, very excited. Or at least pretend you are. 🙂 I missed my adopted hometown a lot.
In completely and totally unrelated news, I heard Lisa Loeb’s song “Stay” on the radio yesterday on my way back to Nashvegas. (It’s the source of the title of this post.) OK, my friend Dawn and I LOVED this song in high school and knew all of the words. Even the intonations of her voice. (Who am I kidding? I still love this song. I just don’t know why.)
I’m happy to report that I still know most of the words. Which is something to brag about, even if it is a little sad.
But, come on, Lisa Loeb made glasses cool again. Which was a big thing for a girl who sometimes wore glasses (because I can’t see.) (BTW, I’m going to see the eye doctor tomorrow! Fun!)
