Snow day

It snowed today in Nashville, meaning the world went crazy, the TV news stations sent reporters out into the weather to report on exactly how cold it is (they believe in the method acting version of TV reporting), and schools across the mid-state were called off. Notice from the picture (not my house!) that the grass is still peeking out from the snow.
Nevertheless, all drivers were advised to leave early in order deal with traffic problems. So I did. And there were none, at least not on my route to work. Apparently there is ice on the roads . . . somewhere. I’m just not sure where! (You all will be happy to know that I did dress appropriately for the weather this go-around. Not like last time.)
So here I am, stuck at work, really wishing that grown-ups got snow days. Or at least had the option of working at home in their pajamas—which I’d wear to work if they’d let me!
But duty calls. I’ve got devos to edit, a production team for another product to appease (I think they’re a bit miffed with me, but who isn’t these days?), and devotion Scriptures to pick out for the November 2008 issue of ec. Since I’m already here, I might as well accomplish something, right? We’ll see how well that goes. If you’ve got one, enjoy your snow day. And your garages. And this blast from the past picture:
