So last night, Mindy and I went to see Daughtry and Bon Jovi in concert. Laugh if you must, but this concert was seriously worth the money! And yes, we bought the cheapest seats, which meant the highest section of the Sommet Center and “behind-the-stage” seats. But we liked to spin those as “back-stage” seats and decided to look on the bright side: we got to see the “good side” of Daughtry and Bon Jovi way more than anyone else. Oh, and the big screens helped.
Daughtry was great and led the crowd in a great sing along, which I always enjoy. I’ll even forgive him the cowboy hat he came out wearing.

Then it was time for Bon Jovi! Mindy and I figured there was no sitting down after Jon and Richie hit the stage (and for us there really wasn’t. The people next to us didn’t seem to share the same concept of appropriate concert behavior and didn’t really care for our dancing, swaying, and screaming. Because, children, we did! And why pay the money to come to a concert if you’re not going to enjoy it?)
And whatever your thoughts on Bon Jovi, that concert was awesome. It was so much freaking fun! They sang a good mix of the new stuff and the old (Bad Medicine, Dead or Alive, Livin’ on a Prayer). Richie Sambora sang “I’ll Be There for You.” Jon sweated through 3 shirts and a jacket. Richie wore at least 2 hats. Big and Rich showed up and sang (always a good show)! And my favorite moment of the night: when LeeAnn Rimes appeared onstage to sing her duet with Jon Bon and Mindy said these words: “I love Nashville” (So does Jon Bon as he explained when he promo’d “I Love This Town.”
And we, my friends, loved the show!
