Shock and Awe

I think it’s a little weird that I’m this upset about Heath Ledger’s death. I wasn’t even a big fan of his! But yesterday when I heard the news at the gym, I was shocked. I was watching “Rachel Ray” on the elliptical machine and saw the news scroll across the TV tuned to CNN several machines over. I literally inhaled so hard and so loudly that people started staring. I didn’t know Heath; I wasn’t a huge fan except I saw him in a few movies; I didn’t follow his every career move. I wasn’t aware he was even in the new Batman movie. But I’m really sad about the news that he’s dead. Sad that he was only 28. Grieved that he didn’t get to reach his goals for life. Wondering about his faith and how they told his 2-year-old daughter. Just sad. For a man I never knew.
