Seriously?

OK, the Cardinals played the Royals last night. And lost. To the ROYALS.

Oh, but wait, there’s more.

They lost 8-17. Yep, 17. I wasn’t even sure such a lofty number was possible in baseball.

So how, pray tell me, do you lose 8-17 against the Royals? HOW?! Is this a sign that the world is coming to an end?

I am a dedicated Cards fan and will be until the day I die, but please, boys, we’ve got to do better than this. Kip Wells: you’ve got to pitch better and last longer than the second inning. I know I’m just a fan AND a girl, but here’s a tip: DON’T ALLOW 8 RUNS IN THE SECOND INNING. This never bodes well for winning!

BTW, the Cardinals go to Oakland tonight to begin a 3-game series with the A’s. First pitcher they’ll face? Danny Haran, the former Cardinal who is sporting a mountain man look these days. Don’t believe me? Take a gander:
