Say what?

It’s always interesting to get a glimpse into the way other people see you.

That happened to me this weekend through a weird series of events we’re not going to talk about here.

Let’s just say I was informed of something someone had said about me, and it was so outrageously off-the-wall that all I could do was laugh. (I’m not detailing it here. It wasn’t necessarily bad, mean-spirited, or anything. It was just funny.)

The weirdest feeling was the realization that someone was talking about me, kind of behind my back. I live in this bubble in which I think I know what people think of me, how they perceive me, and that no one really spends any amount of time conversing about me when I’m not there.

Apparently, that’s not the truth.

But there’s really nothing I can do about it. I can only live my life and act out of pure motives.

And despite the extreme silliness I heard about myself this weekend, I hope that’s what my life declares to the world: true kindness, love, gentleness, and every other fruit of the Spirit.
