Realizations

• I’m whiny today. (And that’s different from any other day how?)

• In hindsight, 2 mochas (involving extremely good espresso) and a lot of Dr. Pepper, all in one day probably isn’t a good idea. It means you can’t go to sleep and talk 90 to nothing. . . .to your dog. I speak from experience. Dogs can give you “the stare of annoyance.”

• Jon McLaughlin (my new singer/songwriter crush) is NOT very ugly.

• I’m hungry. I ate lunch 2 hours ago! What, do I have extremely good metabolism? I doubt it!

• It takes true talent to hear and sing the harmony part of a song. I don’t have it.

• When set on shuffle, my iPod has a bias toward Ryan Adams, Coldplay, and other songs I don’t want to hear today.

• 64 ounces of water is a lot to drink.

• Coffee and chocolate might actually improve my mood!

• I hate having the office across the hall from the conference room.

• I think that I do the “Jim Halpert” facial expression sometimes when someone says something stupid.

• You can’t find out what name goes with a cell phone number without paying money to a service. And I usually don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t recognize. . . so if you called me yesterday and didn’t leave a message, you better call back!

• I’m counting down the hours until LOST comes back. 6 hours 45 minutes (I’m a journalist, not a mathematician. . ..that could be very embarrassingly wrong!)

• Good friends are hard to find. I should keep them close to my heart and tell them how much I appreciate them!

• Valentine’s Day is next week.

• All businesses should be closed at least one day in February. It’s a long stretch of working day-in, day-out from New Year’s Day to Easter, if you even get that off (some places don’t!)

• I’m rambling. I need caffeine. And snacks. And caffeine. Mmm, and snacks!
