Podcasts We Love: Bible Edition

At The Bookery, we're all for content that encourages you to engage with Scripture. And one of our favorite ways to focus our minds and hearts on God's Word is podcasts. While we're (obviously) huge fans of books, podcasts allow you to engage with Scripture using a different sense, which can sometimes help you come to a new level of understanding. We want to help you treasure Scripture in your heart, and these podcasts are a few that help us do just that.

Knowing Faith Podcast

Featuring Bible teacher Jen Wilkin, J.T. English and Kyle Worley, Knowing faith is centered on helping believers understand that their faith is rooted in Scripture. For the past couple of seasons, the hosts have been delving into the Book of Romans, going chapter by chapter. Special guests and biblical scholars of all denominations, Knowing Faith is challenging, informative and sometimes funny!

The Bible Recap

Hosted by Tara-Leigh Cobble and produced by D-Group, the Bible Recap is a short daily podcast that accompanies a Bible reading plan, accessible in PDF format or through the Bible app. Cobble quickly recaps the day's reading in a common sense, casual approach—that it doesn't take a seminary degree to understand.

Risen Motherhood

Several members of The Bookery community suggested Risen Motherhood when we were working on this post. Hosted by Emily Jensen and Laura Wilfer, the podcast wants listeners to see that that the gospel is really our hope in every situation, including in the trenches of motherhood. As Bookery community member Liz said, "They’ve encouraged my faith so much by being relatable and ALWAYS pointing us to Jesus.”

That Sounds Fun with Annie F. Downs

If you've read any of Annie's books, you know a lot about her bubbly personality. While That Sounds Fun isn't specifically focused on unpacking passages of Scripture, Annie's conversations with her guests are filled with biblical truth and encourage you to simply spend time with Jesus. Plus, as the title says, it's just fun!

The Proverbs 31 Ministries Podcast

This podcast bills itself as "biblical truth for any girl in any season." And that's really the goal of the Proverbs 31 Ministries podcast: to help you grow in faith and engage with Scripture, no matter what you're facing. Recent episodes have focused on remembering God's promises no matter what you're going through, why we can believe in God's protection and how God's holiness helps us to trust Him. It's worth a listen!
