It’s the third Sunday of Advent. In many traditions, the theme of the third Sunday of Advent is joy. Pause to reflect on how Jesus has been your joy and thank him for the ways he will be your joy in the coming days.

To prepare your heart for this week’s devotions, meditate on the third verse of the hymn.

For from the Father's throne You came,

His banished children to reclaim;

And earth and sea and sky revere

The love of Him who sent You here.

And we are jubilant today,

For You have washed our guilt away.

O hear the glad new song we sing

On this, the birth of Christ our King!
