Read
Read Revelation 21:1-8.
What does this passage teach you about Jesus? His character? Why he came to earth?
Yesterday we talked about the “already” and “not yet” aspects of salvation. How do these verses help you to see that hope fully realized? Why is it important that God’s home is among his people?
How does this passage picture restoration? What is your response to the realization that God is working now to make this expectation a reality?
Why is this passage not hopeful to unbelievers?
Journal
From the very beginning of Scripture, we learn of a God who was working in time and space to bring the people he loved back into a right relationship with him. What sin had broken, he would make right. What we destroyed, he would make whole. And when the time was exactly right, he sent his Son, Jesus, into the world. And through his sinless life, sacrificial death and powerful resurrection, we have the right to become children of God. To live in relationship with the Father for all eternity, enjoying the beauty, goodness and truth he has promised us. Everything sad is coming untrue because, in the end, he will wipe away every tear from our eyes. All that was broken is being made new.
Praise him for the hope you have today, journaling your response as a prayer of thanksgiving, worship and praise.
