No, thank you.

Since I’ll hop in the car and drive to Missouri for the great Thanksgiving celebration tomorrow, I’ve been pondering the things I’m thankful for (you know in addition to the last minute packing, laundry, and figuring out where I put that sweater I wanted to take). Oh, and watching “Chuck.” (Because I secretly adore him.) So I’m making a thankful list, and you guys get the joy of reading it. Enjoy (or not!) So here we go. This year, I’m thankful for:
• my family (and our new addition, Eli)
• my friends—you guys warm my heart. And love me when I don’t deserve it, are honest enough to tell me when I’m being stupid, and give me lots of reasons to smile and, most of all, you make me laugh. Thanks, guys!
• My dog. I know she’s a dog; I know she’s weird and full of her own special brand of quirks; I know sometimes she’s downright mean. But I love her and hate to think about what life would be like without someone who is so happy when I come home from work.
• Coffee. Oh how I love thee.
• Clean sheets. (And, you know, a roof over my head. Even if I do need the help of an expensive masonry expert at the moment.)
• That I have hope, peace that passes understanding, and don’t mourn like the world does.
• Music. Beautiful music that proclaims the thoughts my heart can’t even express.
• That NCAA basketball is up and going. Yay!
• Baja Burrito, though I still contend it’s just not quite as good as it used to be.
• The promised of Mama’s cooking tomorrow.
• Bobby pins. Because my hair is currently crazy and I can’t do a thing with it.
• Shoes, glorious shoes.
• The fact that people actually read the ramblings I post on this blog.
• That I bought those tickets to the Andrew Peterson Christmas show.
• That my car is paid for!
• That either my work is getting back on track or I’m more relaxed. Either way, it’s better than feeling overwhelmed and stressed out all the time.
• Cherry Coke Zero.
• Cameron Crowe
• lamplight and candles
• That you took the time to read this entire random list. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I’ll be posting about mine!
