Monday, Monday

It’s Monday of GMA week. I’m already tired.
And the big gulp of coffee I just took—yeah, it’s cold. Which means gross. Which makes me make a really ugly face. So in honor of this auspicious start to the week, I offer you a few random thoughts.
• Why is it that this pair of pants that I bought last year and never wore. . . .have a hole in them? Right on the seam. Yes, I can fix it, but it’s not fun to realize you’re walking around with a hole in your pants after you get to work on the day you have GMA interviews. I certainly know how to dress to impress!
• I propose that across America the workforce lobbies to move the starting time of the Monday work day to 10:30 a.m. Wouldn’t it be better to just sorta ease out of the weekend into the week? I think so.
• I don’t have luck with rental cars. The current one smells and squeals. One time when I went to New Orleans to cover something at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary for work, I got an upgrade on my rental car. This was amazingly cool until I saw said upgrade. I had some sort of large SUV, like an Escalade or some such. (OK, so it probably wasn’t that nice.) But it was large and seemed huge to someone used to driving a small car. Plus I was driving it in New Orleans where driving is a contact sport. Basically, we parked that baby at my brother’s apartment in Metairie and I made him drive me around the entire time. It was nice having a chauffeur. Then there was that time in New Mexico when I got the car with a windshield wiper that didn’t work. Not a problem when in a place where rain is infrequent at best. But guess what? It rained. And the windshield wiper that didn’t work? Yeah, on the driver’s side. Fun times!
• This weekend is tax free weekend. I can’t wait.
• My coworker just put a pic of George Clinton (and the Parliament/Funkadelic) on my office door. They’re apparently playing at the Wildhorse on May 3. Seems sort of out of character, huh?
• Work calls. Have a happy Monday, all! Hugs from Nashville!
