Minor annoyance

So there’s a little habit I have that even annoys the crap out of me—I seem completely incapable of taking a CD out of a case, listening to it, and putting it back in the correct case. This is weird, since I’m anal retentive about my CDs being arranged in alphabetical order by artist’s first name. The result of this habit is that I’m continually confused about where some of my CDs are.
Enter tonight. My sucky stereo is in my kitchen, because I like to listen to music while I cook. Generally, it’s Damien Rice. But tonight while I zapped my supper (OK, so I was microwaving, not cooking, per se). Tonight I wanted to listen to the Beatles, so I dug out my Beatles Anthology CDs and opened the third one and popped in the second disc because I wanted to listen to “Let It Be.” While I had it out, I thought I’d check out Beatles Anthology 3 disc 1. Guess what?
It wasn’t there.
That resulted in a search through all my CD cases and a look through the other places I keep CDs. No dice. I have no idea where that CD is and now I’m mad about it. I’m going to check my CDs at work tomorrow before I gie it up as lost.
I’m highly annoyed with myself!
