Living on love

So earlier I was surfing the great blogosphere and found a bunch of blogs listing things people loved. Some were only 21 things, some were 100. Mine is just as long as I want it to be! 🙂

I love my brother and his quirky sense of humor, my dad’s rough farmer’s hands, a soft breeze on a spring day. I love work days without meetings, avoiding uncomfortable confrontation, seeing Muffin get excited by a new day. I’m enamored by deep belly laughs, late night conversations at coffeehouses (particularly Cafe Coco), and that moment at a concert when you can’t believe that you’re here and this is happening and you’re part of it. I love Mexican food and baking, puppies, clean sheets, and good hair days. I’m in love with the way bookstores smell, my mom’s excited voice, Albert Pujols, and smiles across crowded rooms. I love reading the lyrics of every song of a new album I buy and then the thank-yous, finding the perfect gift, and sunflowers. I love that I just found a fork in my briefcase (?), grilled cheese sandwiches, and watching Ghost Hunters. I love Muffin’s confidence in me, fresh herbs from my kitchen window, and having a dishwasher. I love flowers and green plants, my Grandma Polly’s violet that’s doing well in my upstairs window, yoga pants, T-shirts, and Chuck Taylors. I love good friends even though they’re miles away, a car that runs, and the hope of being someone better, different, and more like Christ each day. I love the idea of falling in love, Jane Austen novels, and Psalm 18:2. I adore baseball games and all that go with them: vendors, sunburns, popcorn, nachos, and hot dogs. I love family stories, the way Christmas mornings were before my Grandma Ruby went into the nursing home, and forming new traditions. I love my dad’s hand on the back of my neck, my mom’s encouragement, and my brother’s hugs (hug the Mandy!). I love standing around the piano at my parents’ house and singing old songs, the color red, and cookie dough.

With all these blessings, how could I ask for more?
