Let the gluttony begin

So Thanksgiving comes on Thursday, but some friends and I decided to get the eating started a little early by celebrating with a Thanksgiving potluck at my house after church on Sunday. Here’s the story, in pictures:

I woke up early this morning. Like 6:30. So I just got up and got the green beans and turkey started. And started getting stuff out so that I could pull dinner together quickly after church.

I made this beautiful buttermilk cake the other day. Icing and all (which I should have made more of, but I was tired. And I’d already destroyed one batch of icing by pouring hot stuff into the butter mixture. I had a moment of baking stupidity, OK!

Buddy and Mark liked it.

So did Liz and Mindy.

I apparently just took the opportunity to look creepy and unattractive.

Muffin just enjoyed it all. Except the football, apparently. All in all, it was a good meal. Come over sometime. I’ll cook for you!
