It’s your turn.

For the last several months, we’ve had a large sheet of paper on the wall by my office door on which we’ve recorded the most quotable quotes that have come out of working together day in and day out. Inside jokes like Nick Schlax, a conversation regarding a map and Pam mistaking the Black Sea for a country, and funny almost-typos and such.
Yesterday afternoon, I decided it had served its purpose and took it off the wall. Coworker Emily quickly replaced it with two more lists. Now, we’re apparently inviting people to suggest gifts I can sew them (which is lovely, considering I can BARELY sew!) and ideas for what I can do next Monday when I’m hanging out in DFW for awhile. First, a little back story. . .
My friend Kelly is getting married this weekend in Dallas, and I will be there! I ordered my ticket from Hotwire and thought I was getting a flight out of Dallas on Monday morning at 9:35 a.m. I was not. I actually bought a ticket for 9:35 p.m. The plan was to have a whole afternoon at home that Monday. Now it seems I’ll have a whole afternoon in DFW. Fun times. But, there’s more!
I am depending on other people picking me up from the airport, getting me to the places I need to go, and taking me back to the airport. I have no idea when I’ll get dropped off at DFW, but I could be there for awhile. And while I love me some airports, this might be a bit of overkill.
So, fearing the worst, my coworkers decided to come up with all kinds of things I could do: return smart carts for the refund, particularly ones people were not finished using; flirt (which it is generally accepted I am bad at); test security; get arrested and/or questioned; read; ride the trains around; shop in the overpriced stores; review all the restaurants, and so forth.
So my question to all of you is simple: what would you suggest I do with my layover sans transportation? Points for the most creative suggestions!
P.S. I want to make one of my friend Brandy’s recipes tonight. But I need sweetened condensed milk to do that and don’t feel like going by the store after the gym to get it. So I found a Paula Deen recipe to make my own. What do you guys think? Will it work? Have you ever made your own sweetened condensed milk?
P.S.S. “American Idol” tonight! It’s a date (Crystal Z!)
