It’s what makes you interesting

Early this week, members of my editorial team told me I was a dork. I replied that I’d never tried to hide my dorkiness. Oh, no, boys and girls. I’ve embraced it. Here’s some of the things that contribute to my dork factor:

• I’m creeped out my monkeys wearing clothes. And monkey fingers are the creepiest. • I’ve been known to read all the cards in a Trivial Pursuit game because I like the trivia. (And that one time I memorized as many answers as possible in order to beat my brother! • I read books I love over and over again. • I’m also creeped out by Donald Sutherland’s teeth. I can’t explain it. (I also didn’t catch on that he was Keifer’s father until a few years ago. I know, I know.) • I spent last summer and fall watching “Alias” all the way through—from season 1 to season 5. In order. • I have lost any skills I might have once had in math and replaced them with useless facts about the most random things, like David Cook’s middle name (Roland) and weird facts about movies, books, and history. • When I buy a new CD, I listen to all the songs in order and read all of the liner notes. (I secretly want to be thanked in someone’s liner notes someday!) • When I’m really angry, upset, or nervous about something, I sometimes practice what I’m going to say (or would have like to have said) out loud. It makes me feel better. • I can’t watch the trailer for the movie The Strangers that opens today. The masks sort of freak me out. • I shook my Mark McGwire bobble head so hard his head got stuck looking off to his right side rather than straight on. • I have been known to DVR “60 Minutes.” When Bon Jovi was on there. • I watch “CBS Sunday Morning” every Sunday morning and have left my house knowing I was going to be a bit late for church to see the end of a story. (And I became a Griffin House fan because of that show.) • I spent the last 15 minutes writing this post. Have a happy weekend, all!
