It’s Monday. All. Day. Long. . .

Let’s just say that when asked, I would never pick Monday as my favorite day of the week.

And I’d be inclined to punch people who do in the face. And I mean that. Sure, everyone has their right to pick any day of the week as their favorite day, but Mondays? Really? Those people are just a shade away from crazy.

Anyway, here’s a little rundown of why Mondays are not my favorite day, based mainly on my experiences this morning: • Getting up after a weekend of waking up when you want is hard. • Waking up in the spring with allergy issues is a blessing. I think at some point in the night, I was awake and coughing violently. Or I dreamed it. But I felt like it had happened this morning. • When you’re trying to stick to your new idea of running before work and REALLY don’t want to because it’s Monday morning, you’re grumpy, and feel sort of gross, it would help if your iPod was charged. • No music runs for Mandy means she stops early and is pretty sure she is dying in the middle of the run. And it’s definitely not a good pace and a very short distance. • Actually drying your hair is too much work. Just dry it partially and put it in a ponytail. No one will notice you look terrible. Just add cute shoes and big earrings. • Oh wait, big earrings and cute shoes don’t take the focus away from a poorly conceived outfit and bad hair. Oh, well. Hopefully you won’t meet anyone important and/or cute today. • Of course, today of all days, your coffee pot would inexplicably yak coffee all over your cabinet for no apparent reason. You won’t find it until you’re about to walk out the door. And you have to clean it up because coffee stains and there’s a pool of it under the microwave. It’s AWESOME! • At some point, you will get your stuff together, get out the door, and get to work. Where a nice cup of coffee that didn’t end up all over the countertop and a PopTart won’t fix everything, but it will help.

So, Monday has begun. Let’s hope things start getting better!
