It’s in the mail

Because my name happens to be on the masthead of a magazine, I get some strange things in the mail. One time, I got a letter from Ghana that contained a picture of a naked woman. You’ve never seen anyone that flustered, believe me.
The letter I got today, though, was interesting and quirky in its own special way.
It was addressed to the magazine and involved a slightly creepy cartoon preacher/priest with televangelist hair and a headline about celibacy. Inside, there was a photocopy of an article about the sexual abuse scandal that has rocked the Catholic Church. And then, the typewritten line: Wouldn’t a 20 minute procedure be more effective and less costly?
Because the sender of this little letter has apparently written a book on castration. Yes, I said castration.
Wow. I still don’t know what to do with that letter.
Or why he sent it to me. . . .
