It’s Christmastime in the city

christmas21

Since it seems increasingly likely that I will not print these and/or mail my Christmas greetings along with goodies to anyone this year (sorry to those of you who are used to received Mandy-baked goodies at Christmas. Mandy is tired.), I decided it was best to wish you all a merry Christmas via my blog. You know, since those of you who read this would probably be the ones I’d be sending stuff to. (You lurkers, I wish you a very merry Christmas, too. Comment sometime!)

Last night, I used up my last bit of sanity in a baking marathon. Now I like baking. A lot. It makes me happy, is usually somewhat relaxing, and allows me time to think. But last night, I started the baking around 6:45 and didn’t stop until pretty much 9 p.m. Then, I remembered I still had some gifts that had to be wrapped to give to people today. Then, I settled in to watch some Dawson’s Creek (please don’t judge, it’s a recent random obsession that has to do with Joshua Jackson) and kind of, sort of fell asleep on the couch. I am so getting old. (But if you’re interested, I made Payday cake, blondies, and white chocolate/cherry cookies. I might give you a bite. If you’re nice.)

The Christmas craziness continues with a Christmas lunch with some friends today, my presentation of baked goods to coworkers tomorrow, and the department Christmas party on Friday. Which is a brunch involving all my breakfast favorites (except the powers that be picked bacon and ham over good ol’ sausage, but I’m not bitter) and catered by Monell’s. The fat in my body is already celebrating the addition of more carbs, sugar, and possibly, lard. I love the South.

But I do wish you all a very merry Christmas season. Enjoy as much time as you can stand with the family, eat some good food (splurge a little!), and take to time to consider the fact that as the saying goes, “Love came down at Christmastime.”

Hugs to you all!

(And I like the colors red, brown, blue, gray, and navy. I LOVE shoes. I wear mediums, sizes 6-8, and 6.5 in shoes. You know, should you want to send a gift my way. —I’M JOKING! SHEESH!)
