It’s all happening!

Remember how I told you I was getting senile?
Yeah, I wasn’t kidding. Mindy can attest.
Last night was my night to drive to Bible study. Which for you Nashvillians, is taking place out south of town off the Goose Creek exit on I-65. Off of Lewisburg Pike. Meaning far, far away. But I digress. It was my night to drive and because of silly Nolensville Road traffic, Mindy was having trouble getting to my house. Basically, she arrived and got out her car and straight into mine. And off we went to Bible study.
On the way there, we had a conversation about how her car was on empty and how I had filled my car up with gas that morning. When we got to Bible study, we hurried in, then left pretty soon when it was over, because it was 9 p.m. and Project Runway was on. When we got to my house, Mindy hopped in her car and started home. I went to walk Muffin. When I walked back into my house, my cell phone was ringing. “Mindy New,” the display read. Curious, I answered. I mean we had just spent several hours in one another’s presence.
She was calling to tell me that while the door on my gas tank was closed, my gas cap was hanging outside of it. And guys, IT HAD BEEN THAT WAY ALL DAY! My best guess is that I filled up, got lost in space and sleepiness, just shut the little door and sped off.
See, I’m not even 31 yet and it’s all going downhill.
This does not point to good things in my golden years.
I’m going to be Rose Nylan.
Oh, dear Lord.
