It burns! It burns!

So I got a sunburn.
Not your-run-of-the-mill-mildly-uncomfortable-kind of sunburn.
No, this is a bright red-people-want-to-touch-it-provides-it’s-own-heat-source-and-might-blister-and-will-definitely-peel kind of sunburn. It’s on my upper back and shoulders and it feels like it’s crackling and sizzling when I get hot. Purses and bags draped across my shoulders hurt. Clothes hurt. And for awhile, the mere thought of moving my arms hurt.
Granted, the sunburn is my fault. Or at least proof that I’m getting forgetful because I sunscreened every other part of my body and made a mental note to reapply on my shoulders and upper back. Did I remember that mental note? Um, no. Did I stand outside in 97+ degree heat on Saturday enjoying free music and free food and ducking inside Ernest Tubb’s Record Shop? Yep. Did I regret my forgetfulness? Most certainly.
So no hugs or pats on the back for the next few days. And I’m going to go crazy when it starts peeling. Just an FYI.
And Solarcaine is my new best friend. 🙂
