In All Honesty

I was thinking the other day (yes, I know, a dangerous thing to admit!) about the things you probably wouldn’t want to admit to the world. You know, if I was just absolutely honest with people about some things in life, what would I say. Here’s a few of the “jewels” I came up with:

• I honestly think every Red Hot Chili Peppers song sounds the same! Same riffs, same beat, same chords. . .(go ahead, hate me!) • I love the Beatles, but I get really tired of Paul McCartney’s music sometimes. • Honestly, sometimes eye shadow color is the most important thing on my mind. • I hate it when people drive in the exit lane on the Interstate when they have no intention of exiting . . . especially when I do need to exit and I can’t get over because Grandma’s on her Sunday afternoon drive in the exit lane! • I don’t think Brad Paisley’s cute; I don’t always like his music, but I LOVE him! • I hate it when people name their pets people names like Sara for a dog or Eric the cat. • Sometimes teasing hurts my feelings. • I’m confident about my job (most of the time), but when I’m in a room full of bubbly, beautiful girls, I instantly feel overshadowed, stupid, and out-of-place. • I love Coach Mike Kryzyzewski of Duke. • I say I dislike sushi though I’ve never actually tried it. • Jamie Cullum gets on my nerves. Pretentious, anyone? • Like every 12-year-old girl in the world, I still find pictures of puppies CUTE! • I don’t think I’m pretty. • I’m tired of being tired. • I detest driving when I have a bunch of other people in the car. It makes me nervous to hold their lives in the balance. I prefer to take road trips by myself or with one or two select people. • I no longer remember most of the Spanish I minored in at college. • I actually like summer rain. • I believe rain has a smell. • The only guy to every send me flowers was my dad. I was in 10th grade and in the hospital. • I want to have kids someday, but have a secret fear that I won’t ever get the chance or won’t be able to. • I think too much about off-handed remarks people make that really don’t mean anything. Like when my editor in chief said a design I really liked was “really busy.” • I sometimes get so twitchy and weird when a cute guy actually shows interest that I sincerely CANNOT form sentences. • I write down pay days on my calendar. • I think Prince is androgynous and weird. • I actually like John Denver and James Taylor. • If you lie to me or hurt me in some way, I tend to build walls that aren’t very easy to tear down. • My brother and I can talk about nothing for hours. • I can’t do simple math in my head. • I get nervous speaking in front of large groups. • I get extremely cold when I’m nervous and my knee shakes and jumps of its own accord! • I had enough honesty for today.
