I can’t stop smiling.

I had this plan for a thoughtful post about faith and the goodness of God, but then last night’s MU/KU basketball game went crazy and my Missouri Tigers WON!
This gives me much pleasure. I went to sleep smiling and woke up the same way. It also gives me a chance to say “I told you so” to a few people. Consider this as you think about a conversation I had yesterday with a coworker. It went down like this:
Mandy: Do you know what happens tonight?! Coworker: Um, I don’t know. Mandy: Missouri plays Kansas! It’s going to be good! Coworker: Really? Mandy: Yep. I talked to my dad the other day as he was watching Missouri play and he thinks they can beat Kansas. Coworker: I don’t. Kansas is playing very well right now. You guys can’t beat them. Mandy: Let me tell you one thing: in the MU/KU game it never matters how good they are and/or how terrible we are. It. is. always. a. good. game. I don’t think you understand the power of this rivalry. Coworker: Yeah, I guess. We’ll see.
Afterward, I wanted to point out that Kansas is ranked 16 and Missouri is ranked 19. Which aren’t all that far apart. But I held my mouth and hoped th game would prove my point.
And Mike Anderson and my beloved Tigers did! I think I’ll go sing the alma mater as I get ready for the off-site story meeting I’m leading today for the magazine.
“Old Missouri, Fair Missouri, dear old varsity. Ours are hearts that fondly love thee. . . “
