Dream a little dream

I’m the first person to admit I have strange dreams. You can see proof of that here, here, here, here, and here.
See, my dreams are WEIRD!
But last night, I dreamed something that made me laugh when I woke up. In my dream, I played the guitar. And I wanted to be a songwriter. So I sat down and wrote a whole bunch of songs. Don’t ask me if they were good; I have no memory of that. The important thing was that I had written songs, played the guitar, and was ready for my singer/songwriter big break.
Lo and behold, in the dream Singer/Songwriter Mandy somehow got invited to a songwriters’ round here in town. I was SO excited! It was my first round, my big chance, and it was going to ROCK! I mean, how could it not? It’s a dream!
But, alas, my dears, this was not to be. I arrived at the round, excited and ready to go, and that’s when IT happened. I realized that I hadn’t written down any of the songs I’d written and now I couldn’t remember the words, the melody, ANYTHING. I’d completely forgotten my songs! All I could remember was one song and there I was, facing an entire songwriters’ round with one song. One song!
I have no idea how that turned out. I woke up at that point, and frankly, it was kind of like that dream many people have in which they show up at a test completely unprepared. Did I sing that one song every time it was my turn in the round? Who knows! That will have to remain hidden in the mysterious world of dreams.
But it is funny. . . so I thought I’d share it with you.
And, no, I don’t remember how the one song Dream Mandy could remember went. I wish I could. I’m sure it was amazing! 😉
