Does that really work for you?

So on my way to work this morning, as I was getting ready to turn onto Nolensville Road from the road my house is on, I glimpsed this red truck pulling a lawn mower and weed-eating equipment on a trailer. That’s a sure sign of spring, I thought. Then, I saw that the back glass of his truck had writing on it. It said: Come a little closer. . . . . .& I’ll lay you down. (ampersand was used in this beautiful piece of prose.)
Umm. . . .yeah. I would like to know if this really works for you, Mr. Lawn Care Guy. Because, really, I don’t know how a woman could find that NOT offensive. Well, I’m sure there are some, but those aren’t necessarily the girls you bring home to meet Mama. And so maybe you thought this was funny or something. Or maybe this is your daily motto. But WHY DID YOU HAVE TO PLASTER IT ON THE BACK OF YOUR TRUCK?
I ask this because if you showed up at my house to work on my lawn with that on your truck, I’d probably ask you not to work on my yard again. And I definitely would do this from about 6 feet away. Because I’m not coming a little closer. No, sir!
