Sorry, it’s Friday. This is as good as you get. 🙂
• I’m making peach cobbler after work this afternoon. I don’t want to brag, but I make GOOD peach cobbler. You’re going to want some. Who’s bringing the ice cream?
• Work is interesting. It’s end of the fiscal year time. Which means lots of staffing and reorganization of various areas which translates into LOTS of hallway/stand-up meetings. And because of the black days a few years ago in which several members of my component were casualties of war, my department fears the stand-up meeting like the plague.
• Did you see this? I’ve run 100 miles, y’all. Even I didn’t think it was possible. But I’m skipping running to make peach cobbler this afternoon. No, we’re not breaking up, just spending the day apart.
• I tried the new Facebook. I don’t like it. Maybe I’ll get used to it.
• I went to a blogging seminar yesterday (in which I did get some good ideas for how to better organize the blog for the mag I edit) but really, I could have led this seminar. One nugget the guy passed along to us: when in doubt, present really good content on your blog. Um, OK.
• I’m going to FOLIO in September! Excitement mounts. Actually, I’m going to Rock the Universe at the beginning of September, then FOLIO at the end. I won’t be in town for the NYWC now, though, so I won’t get to see Dawn and Daniel. 😦 Dawn, we must find a way to see each other! (I’ll be in MO the weekend before all this; Jason is getting ordained.)
• I’m drinking frappaccino again. I haven’t spilled . . . yet.
• There’s nothing on TV on Thursday nights. After I watched Good Eats and Food Detectives (which I didn’t really pay attention to) nothing to watch. Later, when I tried to go to sleep, I couldn’t. Because I had a headache. I hate sinuses. (On a sort of related tangent: a woman I work with has a staph infection IN HER SINUSES. Ouch!)
• The Cards are back in second in the NL Central, tied with those icky Milwaukee Brewers. Granted, we’re both still 5 games behind the stinking CUBS (bleh!), which does not make me happy. I’ve declared several people sworn enemies because of their love for the Cubbies. Watch out—it might be you!
