• On my way into work today, I saw a sign at the McDonald’s that simply read: McRib is back! OK, apparently those three words are supposed to thrill me to the tips of my toes. First of all, I’m not even sure McRib should be considered a real word, much less a real food. It’s meat molded to look like it has bones in it, then smothered in BBQ sauce. I mean, come on!
• I’m wearing cowboy boots today. The CMAs are tonight, but that’s not the reason. I just felt like going country today! 🙂
• I may or may not meet dress code today. I’m not sure I care.
• I’ve been getting to work at 6:30 a.m. the last couple of days because of a conference I’m taking part in during the afternoons (read: I still have to get my work done!). While I’m getting up at the same time as usual, I’m losing the time spent shuffling around aimlessly, which I really enjoy. Oh, well. I just have one more day of this!
• Thanks to a blog reader, I know have a recipe for sweet tea, since I’m so bad at making it. We’ll see how this turns out.
• Found this Twitter widget that would schedule tweets, something I really needed for the magazine’s Twitter feed. . . .it so doesn’t work very well. I schedule tweets, they don’t appear. I schedule tweets for a specific time, they appear earlier. There has to be a better one. It’s now my mission to find it!
• Department meeting today. . . . meaning SNACKS!
• Does the word “slacks” bother anyone else? It’s really a gross word to me. And it’s being bandied about a lot around here since all the discussion of dress code started up. Other words that are not my absolute favorites: “my bad,” moist, coagulation, and anything involving any form of the word “fecal.”
• My nephew is still cuter than your nephew.
To quote Ryan Adams, I still love you and I always will. 🙂
