It’s Thursday. . . meaning it’s time for DISPATCHES! Jump around! Scream and yell! Yes, the party has started!
(OK, that’s majorly over-the-top, but you love me anyway. Even if just because Jesus says you have to!) That said, here we go!
• I had a complete “What IS that ?” moment while looking into my fridge this morning. I am going to admit a personal flaw to you: I HATE cleaning out the fridge. Hate it. And usually just wait until there’s too much stuff in there that I can’t remember when I made or put it in there and do a massive clean-out. I know that’s kind of gross and slightly lazy, but for someone who is OCD about keeping the rest of her house kind of spotless, this is a guilty pleasure. This morning, my eyes lit on a take-out box from Chili’s and I could NOT remember the last time I’d been there. It took a few minutes, but I realized that thing is at least 2 weeks old, maybe more. It’s so going in the trash. When I get home. Because for some reason, I did nothing with it today!
• My dog knows bad weather is coming. Storms and possible severe weather is supposed to hit Middle Tennessee this afternoon, the worst between 3 and 10 p.m. Muffin spent all morning following me around with a pensive stressed look on her face. But because of that, she got to sit on the bed all morning, since that seemed to calm her. I wish I could lay on the bed all morning. Really, my dog has a sweet life!
• In my department , some people have promoted the idea that you need to update your work voicemail message every day. You know, “You’ve reached the office of Mandy Crow. Today is. . . ” kind of thing. OK, I have tried to do this for the 5 almost 6 years I have worked in this department. This week, after always being woefully behind on doing this, I decided to throw in the towel. I now have a generic message that I will only change when going out of town for an extended amount of time. Like when we go to Michigan for a focus group at the end of the month. Or when I go see Brandy in Colorado in May!
• I have to take my car in tomorrow to get some routine repairs and the beautiful check engine light turned off. (Well, the reason for it discovered and fixed. So this will be expensive. Fun!) Just because this is such a hassle (the dealership is in Cool Springs and they ALWAYS take forever—wait, they have a new manager who gets things done SO much faster. I forgot!) Anyway, it is a hassle because they don’t open until after I get to work and then I have to ride a shuttle all the way downtown and that’s usually AFTER they’ve dropped off all the Cool Springs area folks. I decided to take a day off work since I have vacation days, need some mental health time, and think a day of hanging out could be fun. Unless it gets boring. If that happens, Rachel, expect a call!
• Baseball season is almost here!
That’s all, folks. Have a wonderful day! And if it storms where you live, know your safety spots. 🙂
