Dispatches

I’m back in Nashville and that means “Dispatches” is back. Even if I’m kind of sleepy and a little out of it. That may actually lead to more hilarity than usual. Or some hilarity 😉

Ready?

• I learned that it is a state law in Oregon that you do not pump your own gas. I’m not sure of the reasoning behind this, but I really think it’s kind of cool that someone else fills up your car for you. Seeing that full service is few and far between around here these days, it was a nice little respite.

• Today is the end of our fiscal year. And I have to have an end-of-year expense report done by 11 a.m. Or else. I’m not sure what the or else would be.

• For those of you who use Twitter, I highly recommend the application Tweetie. You can get it for your iPhone (if you have one. I do not.) or for your Mac. I’m unsure about PCs. But it’s a really great application that keeps up with Twitter for you and allows you to update and check @messages and direct messages without logging in to the actual site. I have a bit of a crush on it.

• I ate breakfast this morning, but am hungry again. This does not bode well.

• I have learned that there are idiots alive and well in the world and some of them have the money to fly places. If you’d like to know more, read my travel post from yesterday.

• When I arrived in Nashville, the Tootsie’s in the Nashville airport had a guy singing live music. I thought it was kind of a great idea. We are Music City, U.S.A, so bring on the music!

• My nephew will be one year old in November. He loves music. I want to make and/or get him some CDs for his birthday. Does anyone know if they make rock music CDs for babies? We’ve got to get his musical education started. 🙂

Sorry this is so short today. My mind is a bit muddled from a whirlwind trip across time zones and I have that expense report to get started on. Let the fun begin!
