It’s FRIDAY!!!!! It’s “Dispatches” Day!!!!!!

Who’s excited?! Who thinks this combination has the ability to ROCK THE WORLD?!

Hmm, only me. Oh, well. Whatever. Let’s get on with the show.

• I just realized, even though I looked at the schedule last week, that the Memphis Redbirds are in town playing the Sounds. Now I want to go to a game.

• I came to work with damp hair today. Simply because I got tired of drying it and it was Friday and this week has been LONG. What’s the deal with that? Lately, every week has seemed really long and we get to the end and I’m utterly exhausted and just want to spend my Friday night (which some part of my psyche insists should be fun and crazy) lying on my couch sleeping and watching inane sitcoms and eating junk food that I did not cook. I think I’m getting old.

• I have to go to Cool Springs after work to buy make-up. I use Bobbi Brown make-up and LOVE it. But I’ve been considering going with a different type of foundation. . . so wish me luck on color matching!

• There are several people in my life who are dealing with some fairly significant stresses and disappointments. I’m not going to detail their situations and names and such on here (because that’s not my place and I haven’t asked their permission) but I would ask that as you think of this post, you just pray for those people.

• Next weekend is Mother’s Day. I’ve toyed with the idea of going to MO, but haven’t made up my mind. I really need to make a decision! I haven’t even checked with my parents to see what’s going on. Maybe I should start there.

• Recently, I found out about a boutique chain called Francesca’s Collections. Then, I found out we have one here in Nashville in the Hill Center. And now, I want to spend all my money on flowy tops and fun jewelry.

• Speaking of clothes, I need to get a couple of pairs of too long jeans hemmed. Anybody know anyone good in town? I could take it where I take my dress pants to be hemmed, but jeans are a little different and I don’t want them to look all weird.

• For the last few days, I have refused to make my lunch. This is a bad habit.

• Yesterday, I got some news at work about something and the news was both exciting and hard to hear. Sometimes, it’s very hard not to let your work and the thing you’ve poured all your creativity into become your “baby.” So when someone criticizes it or discusses its demise or whatever, you feel like they’re talking about you. It’s just an interesting paradox to be excited about possibilities, frightened of possibilities, and sad at the same time. I’m not even sure any of that makes any sort of sense.
