Oh. My. Word! It’s FRIDAY! FRIDAY!!!!!! FRIDAY!!!!!!!
(excuse me while I run laps around my desk)
Let’s just say this: it’s been a VERY long week (and please say that aloud in an Elmer Fudd voice).
I know that you’ve been waiting for “Dispatches” this week, and I won’t make you wait any longer! (B/c it’s FRIDAY!!!!!)
• As previously discussed, this week has been a big, interesting week for “Unfinished Business.” Who knew a simple little post about a frittata could cause the world (or at least this blog) to blow up?!
• Last night, all I wanted for dinner was a baked potato and salad. It’s just REALLY hot and I’d had a big lunch. So I decided I’d just bake a potato in the microwave (I was also tired), fix a small salad, and grate up some cheddar to put atop the baked potato. Here’s where things got interesting. The cheddar was a large wedge, rather than one of those big bars of cheese and I sort of grated my thumb, too. Well, actually, there’s no sort of about it. I took a chunk out of my knuckle on my right thumb and it’s really, really embarrassing to admit that it HURTS!
• For some reason, I saw some of the commercials for that SyFy show, “Haven,” and thought it looked interesting. So I watched the first episode on Hulu and set my DVR to record upcoming issues. I don’t know why, but I like it. It’s got a little bit of an X-Files feel with the male/female leads, one of which is a believer in the supernatural events, one who wants to deny them. There’s a Veronica Mars feel in that the female lead is trying to solve her own personal mystery, and there’s Eric Balfour, which actually isn’t a plus, but oh well. I’ve found I like the show and I want to know what happens next. Who knew I’d be interested in something that was adapted/influenced by a Stephen King book?
• I have run 4 times this week! Remember how I said a week or so ago that I needed to be more proactive and intentional about exercising? Well, it’s going well. A few times, it’s even felt kind of good. 🙂
• I did make blackberry cobbler last weekend. All I can say is that it was a HUGE success. My attempt at making my own pasta dough (without a pasta maker/machine thing) was not such a huge success. Oh, well. You win some, you lose some.
Well, I’ve got much to do today. There’s more webinar stuff to watch, a mag to edit, and mag blog posts to write. Have a happy Friday!
