Back to work, jiggity jig

I’m back from lovely (sarcasm!) Chattanooga and back to work. I am not thrilled.

If I’m going to be absolutely honest, I’ll tell you this: I’m grumpy, the coffee’s not working, and I’m mad at my cable company and have to go home early today to meet the “service technician”. . . .if he shows up.

So in honor of my sour mood, I’m making a list and checking it twice! Oh wait, that’s Santa. I’m making a list of minor annoyances, pet peeves, and things that have somehow managed to lift the fog of grumpiness that’s surrounding me this rainy Monday.

• I hate drivers who insist on driving in the exit lane and have no intention of exiting. I have to get over immediately after the 40-65 merge, people, so that I can exit onto Broadway to get to my job. If you’re not exiting, get out of the lane. And then there are those of you who not only aren’t exiting, but are also driving about 30 mph. Seriously. Get off the highway.

• Mmm, SweetTart hearts. Seriously make my day. Does it matter I bought them for myself? I think not.

• The nickname “Mandykins” as I was dubbed by a coworker during my time in Chattanooga. Mandykins, really? It sorta makes me laugh. Then he added the tagline: Mandy, sweet as candy. And very handy. Wow.

• Mizzou beat K-State! Sweet Lord! How did that happen? Especially since most of our players were benched because of their stupid bar fight. Heed the advice I also once issued to Adam “Pacman” Jones, formerly of the the Titans: Stay home every so often. Read a book. Rent a movie. Have friends over for dinner and board games.

• Did Troy Aikman’s sticky-uppy hair make anyone else laugh during the Superbowl last night? I just wanted some stylist to smooth it down. I apologize to those I watched the game with. I did get a bit obsessed with Troy’s hair and Joe Buck’s hair helmet. And Eli Manning’s open mouth stare. Really, he just doesn’t look all that intelligent when he does that.

• Yay for flat pillows and my own bed. The hotel may have had a king-sized bed, but my own bed is so much more comfy. And the pillows don’t make me feel like my neck is going to break. But then we’re all well aware that I hate fluffy pillows and would probably prefer sleeping on a folded up towel. I know, I’m weird. Deal with it.

• The fact that now, I must go work. Eww. Seriously, you guys would make my day better if you’d leave some comments. It would bolster my self-esteem. I need to feel beloved and beautiful, so start commenting!
