A dog’s tale: How to make your Person notice YOU!

Hey, guys! It’s me, Muffin!

I know, I know. It’s been awhile since I’ve wrestled the keyboard away from Mandy and gotten a chance to post. I mean, come on, Mandy! I’ve got thoughts, too! Lots of them. It’s just that a majority of them revolve around food, treats, sleeping, barking, and world domination.

But anyway, I digress.

I haven’t written for awhile because I’ve been busy. Serving as watchdog/caretaker of my house while my Person is away is a pretty tough job. Plus, there’s all that sleeping I have to do while she’s gone because she keeps me awake when she’s here with all her walking and talking and cooking and such. And a girl has to get her beauty sleep sometime, right?

Anyway, I’ve been busy. And then I was kind of tired and not feeling so well for awhile. Not long ago, my Person had the gall to take me to the vet and get my teeth cleaned! I hated every minute of it, even though I wasn’t awake for it. But I feel somewhat better now. Who knew?! But I’m still not letting Mandy know that. I want her to feel badly about the whole thing and think she really hurt me. Then, I’ll have her right where I want her. <insert evil laughter>

But really what I want to tell you about is the fun I had at Mandy’s expense today. See, generally, we get up, she takes me outside, then she fixes me breakfast. At some point, she goes upstairs to start getting ready for work and I generally follow. I like to lie on the bed and gaze out the window while she gets ready. Because I wake up looking awesome and don’t have to put in as much effort as Mandy. And plus, I like to kind of doze after my breakfast. Because getting up, going outside, and eating can really wear you out! So, Mandy went to get in the shower and I was lying on the bed. I suddenly realized she wasn’t in the bedroom anymore and thought I’d go find her. So I went in the bathroom and walked alongside the bath tub, making sure to walk close enough to make the shower curtain move a little. That lets her know that I’m there. And then, she said something to me and I walked over to the end of the tub, stood up on it, and stuck my head between the shower curtain and the wall. She just thinks she has privacy!

I didn’t really need anything. Just wanted to pop in and say hello while simultaneously annoying Mandy and reminding her that this house is mine and you get privacy when I say you get privacy.

Ahem.

Anyway, that little move ended up getting me a lot of attention. Usually, I only do that one when it’s storming outside and I’m scared, but today, I just did it for the fun of it. She sure did spend a lot of time trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Which meant I got a lot of pets, hugs, and got to sit on the bed and the chair in the bedroom.

I love it when my clever plans work out just the way I wanted them to! 🙂
